When buyers ask why our Aegean cotton feels soft even at higher gsm, the answer is not magic—it is fiber length and twist. Long-staple cotton from Izmir allows us to reduce twist while keeping tensile strength, which preserves softness and drape.
Twist vs. strength
Lower twist reduces hairiness and friction, but we keep strength by using ring-spun yarn with carefully chosen count. For shirtings, 30–40 Ne gives a sweet spot.
Finishing that does not kill the hand
Reactive dyeing plus a gentle calendar avoids the boardy feel common with over-finished cottons.
